When you wake up in the morning, you are opening yourself to a world of possibilities. You are being given another day to live your life. Another day to exert yourself and make things happen.
Most people are unaware of just how profound a single day is. A day is a man’s unit of life. A day is a micro-representation of your life cycle. It begins with a rise and ends with a fall. You rest and renew so that you can begin another day. Your day is all that you can be certain of and the only day that you have control of. Your past and future days are nothing but illusions that dwell in your mind.
Consider that today, you are more wise than you have ever been in your life, that you will never have more opportunities ahead of you than you do now, and that you will never be as young as you are now in this moment. Today is the best day you have in your possession and you must make the most of it.
Life is short, and all the little things you do to waste your time on a daily basis can cumulate to regrets in the future. Guard the hours and the minutes in your days; don’t let them slip away.
A single day can seem unimportant or even trite when you count your life in years. Or, when you focus your attention on being in a certain state or reaching a certain status. Instead, focus on the here and now—because the only day that matters is today.
By concentrating on doing what you need to do for the day, you automatically take care of your future. By taking action now from what you’ve learned in the past, you make the most of it. You focus and perform your best when you live on a day-to-day basis. When you focus on making the most out of your day, you are able to accomplish more and enjoy more.
Live your day as if its your whole life. Live as though you were given another chance—because it will all fade away eventually.
